Dear friends and family,

As you may or may not know, I am graduating this year on June 17th, 2021. Over the past year, I spent time off of social media to disconnect from the World and reflect on the person I’ve become throughout the years. Once the pandemic hit, it gave me no excuse to reflect on who I was as an individual. During quarantine, I’ve realized the hurt, insecurities, and bad habits that I’ve gained throughout my life. Facing the realities of who I’ve become was difficult. But through all my brokenness, unhappiness, and hurt, God was there to bring healing and restoration into my life. Although it wasn’t easy and very uncomfortable, he slowly allowed me to love in ways I haven’t, forgive in ways I couldn’t, and be vulnerable in ways I normally wouldn’t. As a result of His love and grace, he has made me into the person I am today.

Although I’ve grown a lot over this past year, the question of what was next in my life remained. With a lot of research, prayer, and discussion, the Lord has directed me to the World Race. It’s a nine-month program where I travel to three different countries where I help build churches, serve local communities, and spread the love of Jesus. My journey begins in September 2021, where my team and I will go to the World Race headquarters for 6 weeks of training in Georgia. During training, we will be more educated on the cultures and areas we are heading into, prepare for various living and weather conditions, and most importantly, prepare our hearts and mind for the many challenges to come throughout this journey.

For the first three months, I will be in San Jose, Costa Rica, led by three leaders, where a home, food, and security will be provided for us. We will be working with local churches being involved in community outreach, manual labor, and children’s ministry. The next destination I will be at is Craiova, Romania, where my team and I will be doing evangelism, Bible distribution, and community outreach. My last destination will be in Siem Reap, Cambodia, where we focus mainly on community outreach. During this trip, I plan to not only grow in my relationship with God but become independent and seek direction for the next step in my life.

To be able to go on this life-changing trip, I need to fundraise $15,800. All proceeds from this go towards travel expenses, food, health insurance, and shelter. At first glance, this number was intimidating to me, as raising $15,800 on my own is pretty scary for an 18-year-old, but God put a word on my heart. He told me I would be fully funded in an exact month from the day my account first opens. In three days, I’ve raised roughly $1,100, but I am far from achieving the goal of $15,800. I am currently working on T-shirts, bake sales, and work a part-time job to help achieve this goal, but with your financial help and prayers, I know and fully believe this goal can be fulfilled.
